The LIBRAÉ Restricted Substance List
Most luxury fashion is a chemical cocktail. We are the detox.
We adhere to a strict Zero Tolerance Policy. While the industry standard allows unregulated limits of carcinogens and endocrine disruptors, our limit is none.
See chart content below.

The Phthalates & Plasticizers
We refuse to wrap your skin in petroleum.
The Carcinogens & Solvents
Commonly used to process "wrinkle-free" and synthetic fabrics.
The Dyes & Heavy Metals
Color should not come at the cost of your health.
The "Performance" Finishes
If the fabric is high quality, it doesn't need chemical masks.
Polyester & rPET (Recycled Polyester): Whether virgin or recycled, polyester is plastic. It traps heat, breeds bacteria, sheds microplastics into our water, and releases micro-fibers that you inhale and absorb.
Benzene: A dangerous solvent used in the production of synthetic fibers like nylon and polyester. It is a known human carcinogen associated with leukemia.
Azo Dyes: The most common cheap dyes used in fast fashion. Under certain conditions (like contact with sweat), they can break down into aromatic amines, which are mutagenic and carcinogenic.
Synthetic Softeners: Often silicone or cationic agents used to coat cheap, rough fibers to make them feel "soft" to the touch. These sit on the surface of the fabric and can cause contact dermatitis. Our TENCEL™ is naturally soft without additives.
Phthalates: Industrial plasticizers used to make synthetic rubber and prints flexible. They are known endocrine disruptors linked to hormonal imbalances and reproductive harm.
Formaldehyde: The industry standard for "anti-wrinkle" and "shrink-proof" finishes. It is a respiratory irritant and carcinogen that can off-gas from your clothing for years.
Heavy Metals (Lead, Cadmium, Mercury, Chromium): Frequently used to fix dyes and stabilize colors in leather and synthetics. These are neurotoxins that can be absorbed through the skin.
Pesticides & Herbicides: Conventional cotton is the world's "dirtiest crop," saturated in glyphosate and insecticides. Our TENCEL™ is derived from sustainably managed forests, requiring no agricultural pesticides.
* Plasticizers: Chemical additives blended into synthetic fibers and elastane to make plastic flexible, soft, and stretchy. These volatile compounds are well-documented endocrine disruptors that easily leach onto warm, sweating skin.
PFAS ("Forever Chemicals"): Used for stain and water resistance. These chemicals do not break down in the environment or the human body and are linked to immune system suppression.
Chlorine Bleach: Used to whiten fibers, releasing dioxins (highly toxic pollutants) into the environment. We use oxygen-based whitening methods only.
NPEs (Nonylphenol Ethoxylates): Surfactants used in industrial washing that are highly toxic to aquatic life and persist in the environment.
